The alleged murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Kashoggi let the USA question their relationship with a good buyer

On october, 17th the Washington Post finally published the last article of Jamal Kashoggi, the saudi-arabian journalist with close ties to the royal family of his country. One year earlier Kashoggi had fled his home country for fear of repercussions for his criticism of said royal family.

In hist last article published by the Washington Post Jamal Kashoggi stated that only Tunisia has a free press according to the latest “Freedom in the World” report while the press in Jordan, Morocco and Kuwait are considered only partly free.  The other arab nations don’t have free press.

The New York Times writes that turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on sunday, october 21st , that Turkey is going to publish their detailed knowledge of the killing of Jamal Kashoggi in the next two days. According to the newspaper Mr. Erdogan tends to exploit the weak political position the murder has brought crown prince Mohammed bin Salman into.

Fox News probably captures the feelings of many Americans, when they ask President Donald Trump to act against the saudi regime.

According to U.S.A. Today the United States are „Saudi Arabia’s largest source of arms imports. President Trump acknowledged “deception and … lies” by the Saudis, but told the Post he was unwilling to cancel a lucrative arms deal with the Saudis. The kingdom, Trump said, would simply make the purchase from Russia or China.“
